City of Mesa's Office of Economic Development has been honored with the International Downtown Association Award for the City's Higher Education Initiative. The initiative was a strategic effort to recruit legacy institutions of higher education to downtown Mesa. The effort resulted in the City's recruitment of 5 colleges and the adaptive reuse of 2 downtown buildings as campuses for 3 of the institutions.
