East Valley Mayors' Prayer Breakfast highlights public safety

March 25, 2015 at 4:36 pm

The East Valley Mayors' Prayer Breakfast is an opportunity for business, government, faith and nonprofit leaders to come together to find new ways to support East Valley communities. The 4th annual breakfast is hosted by Mayor John Giles and will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa Hotel, 1011 Holmes Ave.

At the breakfast, there will be a moment of silence for the victims of the March 18 shooting in Mesa along with an inspirational message and prayer for first responders, unity and peace.

"On that day, we received support from many public safety agencies from across Arizona and prayers via email, phone and social media that were heartfelt and greatly appreciated," Mayor John Giles said. "Now, it is our turn to pray for the safety of our public safety first responders."

Other prayer topics featured at the breakfast include leadership, service groups and families. Each prayer is given by a faith leader representing a variety of different religions.

New this year is a collaborative question and answer session moderated by Advanced Strategy Center. Each table will be equipped with a laptop computer and as the groups type in answers, the information is sorted and projected on one large screen to maximize the exposure of great ideas.
