Seats are filling up for the East Valley Mayors' Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, April 7 at the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa Hotel. The deadline to register is Monday, April 6 at 10 a.m. Attendees will have the chance to win a dinner and show package for eight from the Palms Theatre.
The 4th annual breakfast is hosted by Mayor John Giles and is an opportunity for business, government, faith and nonprofit leaders to come together to find new ways to support East Valley communities.
At the breakfast, there will be a moment of silence for the victims of the March 18 shooting in Mesa along with an inspirational message and prayer for first responders, unity and peace.
Other prayer topics featured at the breakfast include leadership, service groups and families. Each prayer is given by a faith leader representing a variety of different religions.
A collaborative question and answer session moderated by Advanced Strategy Center will follow the prayers. Each table will be equipped with a laptop computer and as the groups type in answers, the information is sorted and projected on one large screen to maximize the exposure of great ideas.
Proceeds from this year's breakfast will support local charities Helen's Hope Chest and Care, Inc.
