The City of Mesa and the Mesa Chamber of Commerce launched a free online tool designed to help local businesses grow by making smarter decisions through data analysis. Mesa SizeUp, located at www.MesaSizeUp.com allows businesses to easily obtain market research and comparative business data on revenues, salaries, competitors, customer demographics, and much more.

"This program gives growing businesses the ability to make decisions based on good data and information," City of Mesa Mayor John Giles said. "It's the same approach we like to use at the City."

Specifically, Mesa SizeUp aggregates millions of data points from public and private sources to provide four main tools:

oPerformance benchmarking: See how your business "sizes up" compared to competitors. Pinpoint areas where your business excels and where it may be improved. And, get suggestions on how you can use this information to grow your business.
oCompetitive assessment: Map where competitors, customers, and suppliers are located to help make strategic competitive decisions.
oAdvertising analysis: Find the best places regionally to advertise in order to maximize your marketing dollars.
oDemographic analysis: Map the demographics and consumer expenditures of residents to better understand how to serve them.

"Our goal is to help businesses in Mesa succeed by making it simple to access relevant and powerful data to make sound business decisions," Bill Jabjiniak, City of Mesa Economic Development Director said. "With this free tool, entrepreneurs can gather the data and insights they need, including easy-to-understand interactive maps and graphs, with a simple mouse click."

Mesa SizeUp is powered by SizeUp LBI, a service of GIS Planning, a world leader in online economic development solutions.
