Museum offers community A Night with the Stars

The Arizona Museum of Natural History (AzMNH) will once again be hosting "A Night with the Stars." On Friday, Oct. 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the AzMNH, 53 N. Macdonald in Mesa, join us for an exciting evening of astronomical proportions!

Visitors can explore the museum galleries and participate in special activities, including crafts and demonstrations. The East Valley Astronomy Club will be on hand with telescopes for your intergalactic viewing pleasure from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Students from Arizona State University's School of Earth and Space Exploration will be available in the Origins Exhibition to discuss their research and answer space related questions. ASU - Ron Greeley Center, the Astronomy Club and the Center for Meteorite Studies will feature activities including touchable meteorites! At 7 p.m. you will have the opportunity to meet and view a presentation by Dr. Chris Groppi, an experimental astrophysicist interested in the process of star and planet formation. His presentation is on Antarctic Astronomy and suborbital telescopes.

"A Night with the Stars" will be a fun evening of astronomy exploration for the whole family. Everyone from the space exploration novice to the enthusiast will want to take part in this remarkable program. Admission for non-members is $9 per adult and $5 per child and students with identification; no discounts or passes will be accepted. Admission for members is free.
