Kleinman Park reopens after six-month renovation project

August 15, 2017 at 5:56 pm

After being closed for nearly six months for a massive makeover, Kleinman Park, 710 S. Extension Road, has reopened. Kleinman Park has three new lighted tennis courts and four new pickleball courts. The softball fields have been rebuilt with new backstops and shaded dugouts. There is also an open, lighted turf area.

"We are confident that Mesa residents are going to enjoy the changes and upgrades at Kleinman Park, especially with the new lighted open turf area, tennis courts and the new pickleball courts," Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Director Marc Heirshberg said.

The improvements also include refurbished restrooms to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, new signage throughout the park and a fresh coat of paint for the restrooms, ramadas and lights.

Funding for the Kleinman Park renovation project is from the 2012 Parks Bond approved by Mesa voters.
