Mesa Public Library accepting Food for Fines

April 4, 2019 at 2:35 pm

Food for Fines is back at Mesa Public Library!

April 7 starts National Library Week and to celebrate we want to offer library patrons the opportunity to help the United Food Bank and have their library fines waived. Between April 8 and April 27, bring in nonperishable food items to your favorite Mesa Public Library branch and for each item you bring, $1 of overdue fines will be waived. If you bring in three cans of food, $3 will be waived. This is a wonderful opportunity to clear off some library fines and help the United Food Bank at the same time.

No fines? That's awesome! We'll still be happy to accept your donations. Since 2010, your donations have supplied nearly 100,000 pounds of food to the community during this annual event. Help make this year our best yet!

The program involves overdue fines only, other charges are not eligible. We are unable to accept glass containers.

Mesa Public Library has four branches:

Main Library, 64 E. First St.
Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Road
Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road
