The City of Mesa, Visit Mesa and the Downtown Mesa Association have launched Mesa Family Take Out Night, a campaign to help support the restaurants and arts in downtown Mesa during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning on May 6 and on every Wednesday night from May through July, select downtown Mesa restaurants will offer a 4 for $44 dinner special. Participating businesses will offer multi-course options at the special price in addition to lower priced options.

"This is a great opportunity for our residents to support our great downtown restaurants when they need it the most," District 4 Councilmember Jen Duff said. "The City of Mesa has worked hard to revitalize our downtown area and we want to make sure that momentum doesn't slow down during these times."

Downtown businesses that are taking part in Mesa Family Take Out Night can be found at www.visitmesa.com/mesa-family-take-out-night. Links to each restaurant along with contact information for menus and ordering options will also be listed on the website. Residents are encouraged to share photos of their Family Take Out Night meals using the hashtag: #mesatakeout.

Mesa's Arts and Culture Department will also be participating by encouraging at-home creative activities based on a different monthly theme. For the month of May, Mesa Arts Center is leading a project called Together in the Desert. Short videos of follow-along instruction will be released each Wednesday on the Mesa Arts Center YouTube channel and at www.visitmesa.com/mesa-family-take-out-night/together-in-the-desert. Those who participate are asked to take a picture of their artwork and send it to engagement@mesaartscenter.com and share on social media with the hashtag: #TogetherintheDesert. Submission will be used to create an installation in downtown. Also, those who participate and share each week in May will be entered to win a family art experience from Mesa Arts Center as well as Downtown Mesa gift cards.
