Lizards, snakes and dragons Oh My! Only at Celebrate Mesa

Mesa's free party in the park will have a few special guests this year, featuring Rich Ihle, from Reptile Adventures. Ihle will be bringing his reptile friends for a special event at 12:30 p.m. during Celebrate Mesa. Celebrate Mesa is held on Sat., April 16 from noon to 4 p.m. at Pioneer Park, 526 E. Main St.

Join in on the fun with carnival games, rides, a petting zoo, live music from the Freddie Duran Plan and entertainment, food trucks, bounce houses, Pirate Ship ride, Spincycle, Chair Swing rides and so much more. City departments will have booths with information and fun, interactive activities for the kids, and an up-close look at one of Mesa's garbage trucks. Police and Fire vehicles will be on display with a fly-in from the Mesa Air Unit. The community activity area will have local talent performing dance routines, martial arts, interactive games and other live demonstrations.

Back by popular demand, the Living Green Village will offer workshops from master gardeners, solar cooking demonstrations, garden tower exhibits, a tree hugging booth, book readings with Mother Nature, cell phone recycling from ER2 and even special guest star Groot.

Admission and parking are free but there is a $5 fee for unlimited access to specialty rides that include: the Pirate Ship, Spincycle and Chair Swing Rides.

Raffle prizes, including museum and pool passes, restaurant coupons, activity equipment and bicycles and helmets donated by City departments will be raffled off throughout the event.
