Aspiring writers can get help from a published author to improve their skills at Mesa Public Library. Kelli Donley Williams, local author of "Counting Coup" and "Desert Divide," is using Mesa Public Library as her public workspace as part of the Writer in Residence Program. Kelli will have office hours at Red Mountain Library to meet one-on-one with aspiring writers regarding their work and host two free writing workshops each month for the public.

Writer in Residence Consultation Hours
Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road. From February through April, Kelli will hold 30-minute one-on-one consultations to help aspiring authors fine-tune their work. Appointments required.
From an Idea to Publishing: How to Write a Novel
Saturday, Feb. 11, 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road. Kelli Donley Williams will take you from idea to finished product in the novel writing process.
Saturday, Feb. 25, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road. This workshop, geared toward teens and young adults, will cover the basics of storytelling.
Kelli is an author, public health and service professional, and a member of the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University. Kelli worked in international health from 2003 to 2008, developing and implementing health programming for women and children in Bolivia, Mexico, Mozambique and Nicaragua. Her adventures in these countries are reflected in her novels, Counting Coup, Desert Divide, Under the Same Moonand Basket Baby.
