Save the Date for Celebrate Mesa April 15

Mesa's free family-friendly spring party in the park will celebrate Earth Day with fun activities for people of all ages. Celebrate Mesa takes over Pioneer Park, 526 E. Main St., on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event celebrates Earth Day with a Living Green Village featuring over 20 exhibitors. Residents attending Celebrate Mesa can learn about tree planting, composting, recycling household items and new energy efficiency incentives available to homeowners. With the City's new "Trees are Cool" tree planting challenge, master gardener's will have a tree bookmark activity and the nonprofit organization Trees Matter will share food forest recipes using native tree pods. Electric car owners will have their vehicles on display and answer questions.

New this year at Celebrate Mesa are Dart Boogie, a foam dart game involving Nerf guns, and axe throwing presented by Social Axe Arizona.

One of the most popular attractions at Celebrate Mesa is the petting zoo, which continues this year. Children can also enjoy carnival games and rides, bounce houses, face painting, Encanto characters and the splash pad and water wall at Pioneer Park

Celebrate Mesa offers food trucks, live music, painting classes, archery tag, a trackless train and more fun activities for the whole family.

City departments will have booths with information and fun, interactive activities for children. The Mesa Police Air Unit and a Mesa Fire and Medical Department vehicle will be on display.

Free raffle prizes will be available from several businesses including Elevate Trampoline Park, Blue Adobe Grill, Serrano's and Arizona Batting Club.

Admission and parking are free but there is a $5 fee for unlimited access to the carnival rides
