"I am profoundly disappointed and unequivocally disapprove of the reported actions of some Mesa Parks Rangers. The use of racial slurs, inappropriate behavior, and other serious allegations are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
"Our Park Rangers are entrusted to serve and protect all members of our community with integrity, respect, and professionalism. The behavior described in recent reports represents a profound violation of that trust. I look forward to learning the results of the external independent investigation into these incidents. Additionally, I have formally requested a broad review of the management practices of the Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department.
"Clearly, we must be accountable and address these systematic issues immediately to restore public confidence. We owe it to every resident of Mesa to ensure that our public spaces are safe, welcoming, and respectful for all.
I remain committed to transparency throughout this process and taking the necessary Actions to uphold our communitys values.
