"I am extremely disappointed and deeply concerned by the misconduct uncovered within the Mesa Park Rangers Unit. The behavior described in the initial investigation is reprehensible and in direct conflict with the City of Mesas values of integrity, accountability, and public trust.
The City responded immediately to these serious allegationslaunching an independent investigation, placing multiple individuals on administrative leave, and transferring oversight of the Park Rangers Unit to the Mesa Police Department. These are the right first steps toward restoring accountability and trust.
Misconduct and abuse of public responsibility will not be tolerated. I will continue to work closely with City leadership to ensure full transparency, implement stronger oversight and training protocols, and take any action necessary to ensure this never happens again.
Mesa residents deserve nothing less than a professional and ethical city workforce, and I am committed to helping rebuild the communitys trust in our institutions.
