Mesa Public Library Invites Community to Create Cards for First Responders

August 28, 2025 at 3:12 pm

In recognition of the upcoming 9/11 National Day of Service, Mesa Public Library is hosting special cardmaking events where residents of all ages can show their gratitude to Mesa's first responders.

Families, children and individuals can drop-in, get creative and design cards or write heartfelt messages of thanks for local police officers and firefighters. These simple hands-on activities provide a meaningful way for the community to come together, reflect on the spirit of service and express appreciation for those who protect and serve Mesa every day.

Cardmaking stations will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at the Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Road; Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road and Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Main Library, 64 E. First St. All supplies are provided, and no registration is required.

Finished cards will be collected and delivered by library volunteers to Mesa police and fire stations in time for the 9/11 National Day of Service.
