Mesa Public Library Hosts Community Cardmaking Events to Honor First Responders

In advance of the National Day of Service on Sept. 11, Mesa Public Library invites the community to create cards designed to honor and support first responders through creativity and kindness.

Families and individuals are invited to use their artistic skills to design cards or write heartfelt notes to show community appreciation to local first responders. These hands-on activities are a way for residents of all ages to come together, reflect on the spirit of service and contribute something meaningful to others.

Cardmaking events will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the Red Mountain Library, Sept. 2 at the Main Library and Sept. 3 at the Gateway Library. There will also be a session at the Dobson Ranch Library from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 4. All supplies are provided, and no registration is required. Residents unable to participate in the scheduled cardmaking sessions are encouraged to make their own cards at home and bring them to the Main, Dobson, Gateway and Red Mountain locations through Sept. 4.

Library volunteers will deliver the cards to police and fire stations throughout Mesa before Sept. 11.
