The City of Mesa, Hilton and VIVO Development Partners have celebrated the Ribbon Cutting of the new dual-brand Tempo by Hilton Gallery Park and Homewood Suites Phoenix/Mesa Airport, adding 174 hotel rooms and a new hospitality destination to Gallery Park in southeast Mesa.
Located at 5057 South Power Road, within Mesa's growing Gateway Area, the four-story development combines two distinct Hilton brands under one roof. Tempo by Hilton Gallery Park features 97 upscale lifestyle rooms designed for modern business and leisure travelers, while Homewood Suites Phoenix/Mesa Airport offers 77 extended-stay suites with amenities designed for guests seeking longer stays.
The development also features a resort-style outdoor pool, cabanas, an event lawn, indoor and outdoor fitness areas, meeting and private event spaces and an independently branded full-service Chophouse and bar.
"There is a lot happening in southeast Mesa, and this opening is another sign of the momentum we're seeing around the Gateway Area," said Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman. "As more businesses and jobs come to this part of our city, we also need great places for people to stay, eat, and gather. Tempo and Homewood Suites add another piece to what is quickly becoming one of Mesa's most dynamic areas."
The project marks the Phoenix metropolitan area debut of Hilton's Tempo brand and expands Hilton's presence in Mesa. Tempo by Hilton is a contemporary lifestyle brand designed around the needs of ambitious, modern travelers, while Homewood Suites specializes in residential-style accommodations for extended stays.
"Mesa continues to demonstrate the strong fundamentals we look for when expanding Hilton's portfolio, including employment growth, corporate investment, transportation access and increasing leisure demand," said Corey Mitchell, Sr. Director of Development for Hilton. "Bringing both Tempo by Hilton and Homewood Suites to Gallery Park gives travelers two distinctive lodging experiences and positions this property to serve the evolving needs of the Mesa and greater Phoenix markets."
The hotel is a centerpiece of Gallery Park, VIVO Development Partners' planned mixed-use destination near Loop 202 and Power Road. The more than one million square foot development is envisioned as a walkable district incorporating Hospitality, restaurants and retail, luxury apartments and community gathering spaces.
Gallery Park has continued to develop alongside significant growth throughout southeast Mesa. The area is anchored by major employment and educational assets including Mesa Gateway Airport, Arizona State University Polytechnic campus and Chandler-Gilbert Community College, while nearby residential, retail, entertainment and industrial development continue to expand.
Vice Mayor Scott Somers, who represents Mesa District 6 and participated in the project's December 2024 groundbreaking, said the opening reflects the broader transformation underway in southeast Mesa.
"Gallery Park is helping create the kind of complete destination we have envisioned for this part of Mesa, a place where people can work, stay, dine, gather and enjoy the community," said Vice Mayor Scott Somers. "As employment and investment continue to grow around Mesa Gateway Airport, projects like this strengthen the area by providing the hospitality and lifestyle amenities that employers, visitors and residents expect."
The new hotel also expands Mesa's ability to accommodate business travelers, sporting-event participants, leisure visitors and guests associated with companies and institutions throughout the Gateway Area.
Mesa has experienced significant business and population growth in southeast Mesa, with continued investment in advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense, semiconductor-related industries, technology, healthcare, education, sports and entertainment. The additional hotel inventory strengthens the City's ability to support that growth while generating visitor spending at restaurants, retailers, attractions and other Mesa businesses.
The Tempo by Hilton Gallery Park and Homewood Suites Phoenix/Mesa Airport project broke ground in December 2024 with representatives from VIVO Development Partners, Hilton and the City of Mesa participating in the ceremony.
